Acne, 'Ambition to Create Novel Expression' was born in 1996 in Stockholm, Sweden. Acne is a multi disciplined creative agency, which moved into fashion design in 1997 with the creation of 100 pairs of jeans, which were send to friends, family and clients. The jeans were so well received by both the public and the press that the launch for the first full collection followed in 1998.

Acne was snapped up by many of Sweden's leading fashion boutiques, and quickly became one of the most sought after denim brands in Sweden and throughout Europe. With the confidence from the success of the jeans, the Acne team was quick to accompany the jeans with a typically understated collection of luxury clothing.

The Acne clothing collection is now one of the most highly anticipated collection releases of the season, with a cult following throughout the world, which was only intensified with the recent collaboration with the French fashion house Lanvin.
