Helmut Lang, the Austrian born fashion designer founded his
self-named fashion brand 'Helmut Lang', in 1986. The Helmut Lang clothing
collection was popular throughout the nineties, for its minimalist yet refined
designs. Well known for his slim suits, black and white palette, a subtle
washed denim range and the use of technical fabrics. Helmut Lang left the brand
in 2005, to pursue interests in art, however the brand continued under the
guidance of Michael and Nicole Colovos.
Helmut Lang will always be remembered by his follows as the king of minimalism,
he was also won of the first designers to show his 1998 collection live on the
internet, 2 days before the intended launch at New York Fashion Week.
