Ray Ban was founded in 1937 by Bausch & Lomb, who were commissioned
on behalf of the US Air Force, to produce suitable eyewear. For the first year
the aviators were sold exclusively to the military, from then on sale to the
public. The iconic Ray Ban Wayfarer is reported the best selling style in
history. Ray Ban has produced classic designs which have managed to bridge the
different trends throughout the decades without ever completed leaving the fashion
radar.
In recent years the Wayfarer has been pushed back into the front line of
fashion in a big way, with imitations being knocked out by every high street
retailer.
